Frosted Fudge Brownies

Brownies are always a favorite treat. Mom's recipe box has a whole bunch of brownie recipes; this one is another great brownie recipe--a classic brownie with a rich fudge frosting. I made this batch for a family get together. The brownies were a hit.

When I made these brownies, I used nuts in the frosting for some, but not all the brownies. Instead of using a 15x10 pan, I used a 9x9 and 8x6 pan. Then I used frosting without nuts on the larger pan and frosting with nuts on the smaller pan. Any nuts could be used; I used walnuts. These classic brownies are delicious.

Frosted Fudge Brownies

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 4 squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
Melt butter and chocolate over low heat; cool. Add sugar and mix well. Add eggs one at a time; beating well after each addition. Add flour, salt, and vanilla; mix well. Spread in a greased 15x10 pan. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. Cool. Spread with Chocolate Nut Frosting. Enjoy!

Chocolate Nut Frosting

  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
